- The Aleda E. Lutz Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VA), 1500 Weiss Street, Saginaw, MI, 48602, intends to issue a solicitation requesting quotes to provide all labor, parts, equipment, travel, supervision, and management necessary to be able to provide preventive maintenance and repair of all automatic door operators as listed in the statement of work. Contractor will perform preventive maintenance inspections to tighten, adjust, clean and lubricate door operators. Contractor shall provide all labor, parts, equipment, travel, supervision, and management necessary to be able to provide emergency service/maintenance performed outside the normal hours of coverage of all automatic door operators as listed in the statement of work. Contract period will be one year from date of award (approximately October 1, 2010) with four (4) one year pre-priced option periods to be exercised at the discretion of the Government. The total contract duration will not exceed 5 years. A complete Statement of Work will be included in the solicitation document that will be available on Fedbizopps on or about August 26, 2010. No hard copy solicitation will be provided. Solicitation documents may be downloaded electronically at www.fedbizopps.gov. Solicitation responses will be due on or about September 22, 2010. It is the intent of the VA to solicit offers and award one contract on a competitive basis. This procurement will be conducted utilizing the simplified acquisition procedures in accordance with Parts 12, 13, or 15 of the FAR. This procurement is not subject to set aside procedures. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 238290. The small business size standard for this NAICS code is $14 million dollars in average annual receipts.
