- This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. National Institute on Drug Abuse, Office of Acquisitions- Neurosciences, Station Support/Simplified Acquisitions, on behalf of the National Institute for Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), intends to modify government purchase order, HHSN271200900783P, on a sole source basis with the Siemens Medical Solutions, USA, Inc., 51 Valley Stream Parkway, Malvern, PA 19355, for turnkey site preparation of a 3T Siemens System. The 3T Siemens System had been procured competitively but the services for turnkey site preparation were not required at such time. The site for the system was relocated on the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland. Due to the nature of the 3T Siemens System installation and acceptance, Siemens will provide technicians that are trained in the installation and acceptance process. This will also ensure warranty and service provisions. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition using FAR 12 procedures and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Period of performance is 6 -12 months on the NIH Bethesda Maryland campus. Comments to this announcement, referencing synopsis number NOI1710096 may be submitted to the NIDA, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition Branch, 31 Center Drive, Bldg 31, Room 1B59, Bethesda, MD 20892-2080, and Attention: Susan A. Nsangou, Contracting Officer.
