- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for a 40mm Microchannel Plate(MCP)/Resistive AnodeEncoder (RAE) High Resolution Imaging System:5-MCP 40-mm active area detector;oHigh spatial resolution;oLow-warpage MCPs (to avoid fracture from exposure to atmospheric moisture);oElectrically isolated leading ring;Position analyzer;oHigh-resolution compatible;o10-bit (1024 channel) digitized output on both X and Yaxes;oCable set;oRack mountable.NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from Quantar Technology Inc, pursuant to FAR13.106, for the acquisition of supplies determined to be reasonably available from onlyone source.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the SimplifiedAcquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part. 13. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon August 18, 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
