Description: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Northeast Region, has a requirement and is seeking sources to conduct research on whimbrel (Numenius phaeopus) population by capturing and attaching radio and satellite transmitters to whimbrels migrating through the Delmarva Peninsula. Tagged birds will be individually tracked and data analyzed to determine migratory patterns and pathways, and better understand stopover ecology. Provide USFWS with a report describing research and results by December 31, 2011. All reports and publication will acknowledge USFWS Division of Migratory Birds as a partner.
