- Fort Riley is conducting sources sought notice with the capabilities to provide a Complete Pesticide Spray Truck for its Public Works Division with the following specifications: -Tanks: 300 gallon Stainless Steel total drain tank with top-fill opening and cover and level sight gauge visible from truck cab. The Stainless Steel 25 gallon clean water tank is to have a valve and 6 foot grade hose not plumbed into system. -Pump: John Bean or equivalent with a positive displacement capacity of 35 GPM up to 700 PSI, 2 diameter pistons operating at 475 RPM. Cast iron case, tuftrided crankshaft with automotive type connecting rod inserts and ball type main bearings. Plunger cups work inside non-wearing alumina ceramic cylinders. Spring loaded disc type hardened stainless steel suction and discharge valves. Fluid end separated from drive end to eliminate contamination. -Power Engine: Deutz, Deere, or equivalent diesel engine, 25HP-30HP, 4 cycle air cooled with electric starter. Engine shall be a recognizable brand name in the US. Starter to be wire to trucks electrical system. Engine shall be able to be started and stopped both from truck bed and from inside truck cab. The engine is to be plumbed to trucks diesel fuel tank. -Air Chamber: Installed in discharge line to reduce pulsation. -Cutoff: Assures discharge on/off -Relief Valve 50-800 PSI (3.3-53.3 bar) adjustable relief valve with replaceable packing, ceramic valve and seat. -Pressure Gauge: 0-800 PSI (0-53.3 bar) - Suction Strainer: One star type between suction point and pump inlet, 16 mesh - Hose Reels: Install two Hannay Reels model E1520-17-18 or equivalent, 12 volt electric reel, with double captive roller assembly. Each reel supplied with 200 ft of, Green Garde, 800 psi non kinking spray hose, and Green Garde model JD-9 spray gun, including hose and end fittings and 6 ft attachment hose. -Roadside Booms (front mount): Boom Buster models 265 and 180-6, mounted on each side, (total-4), two 12 volt actuators to provide 90 degrees vertical nozzle movement, Cab control box with up/down switches with four, brass solenoid valves, rated to 125 PSI and 24 GPM @ 40 PSI, compatible with rate controller. -Rear Boom: Two Boom Buster 187 Nozzles mounted on each corner at the back end of the truck with two to three nozzles boom mounted on the rear of the truck to cover a minimum pattern of 10 foot and provide proper overlap with corner mounted Boom Buster nozzles. Each nozzle having its own brass solenoid valves, rated to 125 PSI and 24 GPM @ 40 PSI, compatible with rate controller. -Plumbing: Plumb to current industry standards to assure smooth operation of all components to include a capped T in the tank to pump line easily accessible for integration of valves as need with rate controller and GPS system. Truck Bed: -Seven and one-half foot by nine foot flat bed with diamond plated floor and headache rack. The flooring shall be strong enough to anchor spray system equipment per industry standards. Headache rack shall have two yellow strobe light mounted on either top corner. Strobe lights shall have their own separate switch mounted inside the truck cab easily accessible to the driver. -One underbed tool box shall be mounted on the left side of the bed behind the drivers door. -One step ladder shall be mounted under the right side of the bed behind the passenger door to allow easy access to the truck bed. -One set of stairs shall be mounted on the right side of the truck to allow easy access to the top-fill opening on the spray tank and no more than two steps will be allowed. Rate Controller and GPS System: -John Deere Greenstar 2 Rate Controller -John Deere Greenstar 2 Display 2600 -John Deere Starfire 3000 Receiver -Wiring and parts as needed to integrate spray system with Rate Controller and GPS System No substitution of Rate Controller or GPS System Truck: -Ford F350 or equivalent, 4x4 Chassis, 141 wheel base with duel rear wheels -6.7 LV-8 diesel engine w/6 speed automatic transmission (4:10 rear differential with limited slip) -LT245/17 tires with full size spare tire -40/console/40 vinyl seats -A/C with Power telescoping mirrors, brake controller, am/fm CD/clock radio -Upgraded electrical package with minimum of two internal accessory ports The proposed procurement if conducted is anticipated to be restricted to Total Small Business IAW FAR 19.5. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 441110. The Small Business size standard for this project is $29.0 Million. Interested parties with the ability to provide a customized Pesticide Spray Truck with the aforementioned minimum specifications vehicle are encouraged to respond. Oral responses will not be accepted. This sources sought notice is for planning purposes only. This announcement is not a request for Proposal nor an Invitation for Bid. Solicitation will not be available and this synopsis does not commit the Government to award a contract.
