- Description
- The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center intends to negotiate a purchase order on a sole source basis to Thermo Fisher Scientific, Asheville, NC for a one-year maintenance plan for 30 each Ultra Low Laboratory Freezers with a one year option in order to support the Naval Health Research Center. This requirement is being issued on a sole source basis as only Thermo Fisher Scientific has the ability to perform certified repair work on these freezers that will enable the Naval Health Research Center Laboratory to validate the contents in these freezers. Currently, the Naval Health Research Center ™s system of sample handling which includes storage in these specified freezers is a validated process. These freezers and their contents must follow rigid guidelines to retain their quality assurance to approving officials. Due to their expertise, knowledge, and familiarity with this product, it has been determined that only ThermoFisher Scientific can service these requirements with their certified technicians in accordance with product specifications. Service is to commence on or about 15 September 2010 and continue for one year through 14 September 2011. Commercial procedures will be used. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, all quotes received within five (5) days (small purchase procedures are being used) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government for the purpose of determining whether or not to compete the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
