- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS. This is for a market survey only; therefore, no requirement exists so do not request a copy of the solicitation. No proposals are being requested or accepted with this synopsis and no contract shall be awarded from this synopsis. The U.S. Air Force, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC has been tasked to identify sources and market conditions for the purchase of Machining Software. The proposed project will be a Firm-Fixed Priced contract. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this synopsis or any follow-up information requests. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of interest, capabilities and qualifications of members of both the Small Business Community, to include Section 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone), and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) to compete and perform a Firm-Fixed Price contract to provide Machining Software for use at Seymour Johnson AFB, NC. The contractor shall be responsible for providing software which could perform the following: a. Must be driven with wizards for ease of use b. Must have automatic tool, speed, feed, and depth selection for drilling and milling c. Must be feature based d. Must have automatic parameter adjustment upon feature change e. Must incorporate Feature Recognition technology f. Must take advantage of multiple core processors concurrently g. Must automatically recognize holes, bosses, slots, pockets, chamfers and tapped holes from solid models h. Must be able to create a solid model from a machined part for additional operations i. Must be able to create a 3D chamfer j. Must be able to share tools between programmers k. Must incorporate user customizable parts machining templates l. Must be able to import drawings from other Air Force machine shops without requiring revalidation m. Must be able to export drawings to other Air Force machine shops without requiring revalidation n. Software must be able to interface with the following equipment: - HAAS Mini Milling Machine - Wells Index CNC Milling Machine - HAAS TL2 Lathe In addition to the above, responses to this synopsis shall include a capabilities statement about the company; it's ability to provide this type of product and the anticipated total price. All responses received will be reviewed for informational purposes. The type of solicitation to be issued will depend upon the responses to this sources sought synopsis. The Government must ensure there is adequate competition among the potential pool of responsive contractors.
