Description
This modification is being posted to correct the previously Special Notice as follows: The Robley Rex VA Medical Center in Louisville, Kentucky intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Brookhaven Instruments Corp to furnish a Molecular Weight Analyzer for use in the Research laboratories. NAICS code 334516 is applicable to this requirement, with a size standard of 500 employees. The government believes that Brookhaven Instruments Corp is the only authorized provider for the Molecular Weight Analyzer. This is a sole source procurement utilizing 41 U.S.C 253 (c) (1) and Other than Full and Open Competition (FAR 6.302-1). This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotes, however, any firm that belives it can provide this requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer, no later than 4:00pm, September 20, 2010. Intereste offerors must provide supporting evidence of ability to provide the Molecular Weight Analyzer or equal, whose salient qualities are characterized by dilute polymer solutions using static light scattering (SLS); a 30Mw 660nm diode laser and 7 angles to determine the intensity of scattered light; integrated column chromatography software available to be combined with up to 5 detectors including Static Light Scattering; High sensitivity (CCD) charge-coupled device detector; unique hardware configuration: electronics compartment is separated from sample area. Sample leaks do not cause electronic malfunction; flow path of sample; vertical configuration allows disturbances caused by air bubbles to float out of the detector area; sample flow cell material made of PEEK for extra durability. Send statement of capability and supporting evidence to Roxie Ann Keese via email at Roxie.Keese@va.gov. There are no solicitation documents available and requests will not be honored via telephone. Responses received will be evaluated; however; a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, VA will proceed with the sole source negotiation to Brookhaven Instruments Corp.
