Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. Note: The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, Rhode Island is NOT accepting quotes or proposals via submission through NECO. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract under FAR part 12 and 13 procedures (commercial items, simplified acquisition procedures) to Omegadyne of Sunbury, OH to inspect, test and repair (30 ea) Dual Differential Pressure Transducer (DDPT) assemblies (p/n A016668) and (20 ea) Pressure Switches (p/n A018211). The DDPT and the Pressure Switch design are proprietary to Omegadyne and is the only Navy authorized design that can be used on SSN688 Class VLS submarines. The Government does not own the design and, therefore, cannot provide it to another supplier. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A Determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Additional information will be provided upon the release of N66604-10-Q-5007, which, in accordance with FAR 5.203(a) and (h) is anticipated to be on or about 14 Sep 2010. Please forward Inquiries via phone to Michael Broomfield (401) 832-8469 or by email to Michael.h.broomfield@navy.mil.
