- Description
- The purpose of this amendment to solicitation number SB1341-10-RQ-0796 is to provide responses to questions that have posed by potential offerors. Below is a list of the questions with the official responses from NIST: Q1: In the deliverables that refer to designs like the deliverable number 8: - Does the end user ask for a domain model as well as the outlined architecture of the system that would support this domain model? - Response: Yes, a detailed plan of how the software modules will interact with each other is expected in the offeror's response. Q2: In the deliverables that refer to the implementation like the deliverable number 7: Does the end user ask for the migration of the current data from the current to the new system and the implementation of the new system (core and full user interface)? Response: Yes. Q3: Does the end user want the system to be able to: - Automatically retrieve if possible bibliographic data from the internet? - Automatically retrieve if possible chemical system information from know NIST databases? - Automatically retrieve if possible physical property information for a single component from know NIST databases? - Automatically retrieve if possible chemical property information for a single component from know NIST databases? Response: This is beyond the scope of the present requirement; however the system should be designed so that these functions could be developed in the future. Q4: Does the system currently do this automatic retrieval of information? Response: No Q5: Does the batch import/export apply for bibliographic data only or all type of data? Response: All types of data Q6: What does "establish a link in semantic web space for the DOI number " mean? Response: Establishment of a link in "semantic web" space is important so that one database and it records can interface with all others. The DOI (Digital Object Identifiers) is a unique identifiers for each journal article, etc. Q7: Do we do most of the testing only at the end of the base period (last 16 weeks)? Response: Not necessarily - testing should be done as needed during the entire project. Q8: The total number of weeks according to the deliverables is 41 weeks. From what I understood, the deliverables or timeframes are flexible. As long as the COTR agrees to it, is that correct? Response: The period of performance is one year total for this contract. NIST anticipates that some individual time frames will need to be adjusted within this 12-month period. END OF TEXT.
