- NASA/GRC has a requirement for 1 JOB to design, fabricate, and test small-scalemass-and-spring assembly used with an Inprox Technology Corp (ITC) variable reactancetransducer. This is a follow on purchase order to a previous award. The design of thevariable reactance transducer and high temperate spring and mass materials will provideoperation at 500 degree C for approaching the 0.3 mHz to 1 Hz seismic frequency spectrum. NASA/GRC intends to purchase the items from Inprox Technology Corporation. PER FAR13.106-1(b)(1) the only source that has technology able to operate up to 650 degrees Cand has the only available source for the necessary sensor technology.The Governmentdoes not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to performthe effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. localtime on Monday, September 20, 2010. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose ofdetermining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis.Adetermination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsiblesources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
