- Description
- The Bureau of Land Management proposes to negotiate a noncompetitive award of a contact with the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation to conduct a cultural landscape/traditional use study on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands. The study is to initiate a process for identification of properties of traditional religious and cultural importance to Tribes on BLM administered lands for consideration in planning future management actions in accordance with cultural resources protection laws and regulation. Data review will include interviews with knowledgeable tribal elders to locate and identify properties of potential traditional cultural and religious significance in the study areas. A final report will: - summarize the study objectives, and methodology, - identify tribes and bands traditionally using the Study Area, - summarize tribal history in the Study Area,- identify traditional cultural properties directly or indirectly associated with the BLM lands in the Study Area,- recommend National Register Eligibility of the traditional cultural properties identified, - conclusions of the study, provide management recommendations for the properties This acquisition is pursuant to 41 USC 253(c). This is NOT a Request for Quotation; the Government does not anticipate issuing a written solicitation. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
