- U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) anticipates contracting on a sole source basis with Cubic Worldwide Technical Services, Inc, 2280 Historic Decatur Road, Suite 200, San Diego, CA 92106 for field service engineering (FSE) support for the Personal Locator Systems installed on MH-60 and MH-47 special mission aircraft. The PLS consists of two essential components: the airborne AN/ARS-6(V) guidance system, which is mounted inside the rescue helicopter, and a handheld radio/transponder carried by the survivors. The system is used to locate downed aircrew by combat search and rescue teams flying in other aircraft. The proposed action will be processed as a Firm Fixed Price contract for services which the Government does not own specifications and drawings to permit full and open competition. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302.1. Firms that recognize and can provide the supplies are encouraged to identify themselves. This notice of intent is not a request for a competitive proposal; however, the Government will consider all proposals received by the specified due date IAW FAR 5.203 (a). A determination by the Government not to compete this acquisition is solely within the discretion of the Government. The North American Industrial Classification Code is 336413; the business size is 1000 employees. The estimated date of the solicitation is on or about January 2011.
