Description
RECOVERY-PER FAR 5.7 THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THEREFORE, FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY IS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTORS UNDER THE CALIFORNIA NATIONAL GUARD SOUTHERN MATOC. PHASE 4 REPAIRS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING WORK: 1. MOVING Moving and replacement of furniture, vending machines, appliances and other miscellaneous heavy items necessary for performance of work will be a part of this contract. Personnel items and portable electronic equipment will be moved by the government before commencement of work. 2. FUNGAL REMEDIATION Recent water damage to gypsum board wall surfaces has resulted in mold formation. This requires replacement of the lower portions of gypsum board at the contaminated walls. 3. LEAD PAINT ABATEMENT Most of the existing painted ceiling and wall surfaces in the project area contain levels of lead that will require abatement. This includes painted ceilings and walls above existing suspended acoustical tile ceilings that exhibit flaking loose paint falling onto acoustical tiles, suspension systems, ductwork, pipes and other items that require abatement. 4. ASBESTOS ABATEMENT Asbestos abatement will be required for removal of existing asbestos containing floor tile, floor tile mastic, and obsolete transite vent pipes. 5. DEMOLITION Hazardous materials, carpet, vinyl composition tile, wall base and other miscellaneous items will require removal. 6. PAINTING Previously painted surfaces in the project area will be repainted after abatement. Doors, frames and wainscoting on select walls will be painted in contrasting colors to adjacent wall surfaces. 7. ACOUSTIC CEILING TILES AND SUSPENSION REPAIR Existing acoustic ceiling tiles will be replaced with new. Existing damaged suspended ceiling systems will be repaired. 8. FLOORING AND WALL BASE New carpet, tile, flooring transitions and wall base will be required in most of the project area. 9. CERAMIC TILE AND GROUT CLEANING AND SEALING Floors, walls, showers and other surfaces covered with ceramic tile will require grout and tile cleaning and sealing.
