- Under Authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1 The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 7305 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33410 intends to enter into a contract for other than full and open competition. The request is being procured form a specific vendor exclusive of competition. The VA Medical Center West Pam Beach is requesting sole source procurement from J&J Health System Inc. 425 Hoes Lane, Piscataway, N.J. 08854-4103. The equipment and supplies are being procured under author of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1) and FAR Part 6.302-1. These statutory authorities allow the use of noncompetitive procedures when an agency requires property or services that are available form only one responsible source and no other type of supplies or service will satisfy agency requirements. This requested EVOTECH ECR system is required to clean and disinfect endoscopes. It is the only system cleared by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that fully automate both the cleaning and preprocessor of endoscopes. It established a high level of cleaning and disinfecting while eliminating labor-intensive and time-consuming manual brushing. In addition the system automatically detects leaks and tests the cleaning solution ™s minimum effective concentration. Healthcare staff can therefore have complete confidence that endoscope cleaning is safe and consistent; freeing them to focus on patient care. Johnson & Johnson is the only manufacturer and distributor of this system; no other company is authorized to sell the EVOTECH ECR system in the United States. The NAIC Code for this procurement is 339113 with a size standard 500 employees. If there is any other vendor that could supply this system, please send your qualification to the attention of Juanita Lyons, 7305 N. Military Trail, West Palm Beach, FL 33410.
