Description
PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT This announcement is for information purposes only, not a NOT A SCREENING INFORMATION REQUEST (SIR) OR REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP). The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is not seeking nor accepting unsolicited proposals. In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS), Paragraph 3.2.2.4, this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected vendor using single source procedures. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to award a single source "bridge contract" to CGH Technologies, Inc. of Washington, DC to continue support to the FAA's Air Traffic Organization (ATO) Aeronautical Information Management Group's Infrastructure (AIM-I) requirement until the follow-on competitive acquisition is completed. The proposed contract will have a maximum period of performance of six (6) months assuming all options are exercised, with an estimated maximum dollar value of $1,836,720.00. The FAA's current contract with CGH Technologies, Inc, DTFAWA-05-F-00060 expires on September 15, 2010. The competitive award of the follow-on effort is not expected until early FY2011. This proposed bridge contract will continue the current scope and level of effort under the current contract. The use of a single source contract in accordance with Acquisition Management System 3.2.2.4 is in the best interests of the FAA considering the fact that a competitive acquisition for the long-term satisfaction of these services is in progress, the need for continuation of these services while the competitive procurement is being completed, the short-term nature of this bridge contract, and the lack of time necessary to complete and the cost inefficiencies related to attempting to compete this six month bridge contract. If you have any questions or comments on this contract action, please contact the Contracting Officer, Elisa Brown prior to 5 p.m. Eastern Time on September 22, 2010 at (202) 267-3610, or email at elisa.brown@faa.gov. The FAA will not pay for any information or any administrative costs incurred associated with any response to this announcement.
