Description
Solicitation has been amended to extend the required response date/time to 22 SEP 2010 by 3:30 PM CST. The specifications for the Battery Housing Units, CLIN 0002, has changed. Please see the attached copy of the amendment for a copy of the specifications and salient characteristics. The required delivery date for the first initial orders has changed from 2 OCT 2010 to 7 Oct 2010. The following questions and answers are provided for clarification purposes: Q: Will 2300 or 2200 MAH AA Batteries be acceptable. A: No. Q: Is Taiwan acceptable for the Manufacturing of Battery Cells/Units? A: Taiwant is not on the Qualifying Countries List, therefore, the Buy American Act does apply. Also, since this is a small business set-aside, the acquisition is exempt from the requirements of Free Trade Agreements - therefore, the Buy American Act does apply. Q: Who was the past vendor for these products? A: There were various (more than one) small businesses over the years that have provided these products. Q: When is the date for units to be delivered to the Government for the 1st order? A: Required delivery date for the initial orders is 07 OCT 2010. Q: Is it a requirement under DFARS 252.211-7003 to bar-code and label the battery packs. A: The requiring activity has determined that there is no requirement for labeling or bar-coding as the items are not a serially managed inventory, are not controlled inventory, and are not mission essential inventory. All offerors who have submitted a proposal has the opportunity to revise them. If the decision is made to submit a revised proposal, please label it as a revised proposal if resubmitting. All vendors submitting proposals are required to submit a signed copy of the attached amendment which indicates that the amendment has been read, understood, and agreed upon.
