- Description
- Request for Information for Air to Water Cooling Coils This is a Sources Sought Announcement. Responses are due no later than 2:00 p.m. central standard time 16 October 2010. This is a Sources Sought Notice and is for informational purposes only. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS, QUOTATIONS OR BIDS. The U.S.A.F. AEDC requests capability statements from potential sources. Responses to this sources sought announcement will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. NO SOLICITATION IS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE. MARKET RESEARCH IS BEING CONDUCTED to identify potential suppliers of air-to-water cooling coils. The coils are replacements and must therefore match the existing coil capacities, connections, and fit within existing structure. Responder shall include budgetary cost, lead time, and a preliminary performance estimate. New coils shall be of the plate fin type with sufficient internal support to prevent the tubes from sagging more than 1/8" at any point on the coil. The coils shall be made of copper tubing with aluminum fins. Coil casing structure and any tube supports shall be stainless steel. No ferrous materials are allowed. Lead solder is not allowed. End connections shall be capable of interfacing with ASME B16.5 150# class raised face flanges. Threaded flanges are not acceptable. Coils shall be designed to be self draining either by rotating the entire coil package or the tube bundle within the casing at an appropriate angle to ensure complete draining. Other means of self draining may be proposed by the responder. Appropriate draining and venting connections shall be included. Responder shall indicate whether a reduction in face area will be required to allow for this new capability and whether it will impact the ability of the responder to supply coils with adequate performance. Please see attachment for complete description.
