- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT TO METRO MEDICAL, INC. The North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health Care System (NF/SG VHS) intends to negotiate and procure one Visante Omni Anterior Segment Imager Corneal Topography System, including Visante 3.0 w/ATLAS-Visante power table, Printer, Software (Topography Link, Refractive, Irido-Corneal Tools) and ATLAS 3.0 with Pathfinder II Software, and a 250 GB Networking Kit (2 bay NAS Device with two 250 GB hard drives, Network Switch). NF/SG VHS will be trading in a B& L ORBSCAN IIZ-965425. This item will be procured from Metro Medical Incorporated, located at 200 N. Broadway, Suite 1500, St. Louis, MO, 63102. The applicable NAICS code for this procurement is 334510. Salient features of the Visante Omni System include: Anterior segment OCT imaging with a long wavelength (1310 nm) illumination source; comprehensive anterior segment imaging and biometry; corneal imaging and pachymetry; refractive tools software module; irido-corneal tools module; imaging and measurement of post surgical kerato-refractive corneal integrity and flap thickness. The Government intends to issue an award for this requirement on a Sole Source Basis, per FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), wherein "the supplies or services required by the agency are available from only one responsible source." All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Offerors must submit one of the aforementioned documents within 5 calendar days after the publication of this notice. Submission of capability statement, proposal, or quote shall be made via email, to Brian J. Shepard, Contracting Officer, at brian.shepard@va.gov. All responses received will be evaluated. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement, based upon the responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the sole source procurement from Metro Medical Inc. Costs associated with the preparation and submission of information and any follow-up information requests are the responsibility of the offeror, and these costs will not be reimbursed by the Government.
