Description
Intended Source: Hydralift AmClyde Inc Lack of Competition: No additional efforts were attempted; only one responsible source exists that is able to satisfy the agency's requirement under 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii)(A) & (B). Scope of Work: Specifications for LD559 Stem Winch Drum/Gear Combination General: This specification is for LD559 Stem Winch Drum/Gear Combination. The existing winch is steam powered and has been in service for 75 years. The quality and structural integrity of this drum/gear combination replacement part shall be manufactured from new and unused materials and shall meet or exceed the performance of the original part. Performance requirements: The drum/gear combination shall be able to withstand a continuous line pull of 32,000 Ibs on the 1 st layer and 17,000 Ibs. with 2200 ft of 7/8 inch diameter, 6 X 25 IRWC wire rope on the drum. The drum capacity shall be at a minimum of2500 ft of 7/8 inch diameter, 6 X 25 IRWC wire rope. The winch is installed outdoors and the drum/gear combination shall be designed to be weather resistant in terms of paint system. The paint shall be the manufacturers standard marine grade coating system and be apply according to the paint manufactures best practices. Design: Hydralift AmClyde will use the original design specification to produce and supply the drum/gear combination for our specific Clyde Iron Works winch, serial number 11629. The drum/gear combination shall match at a minimum exactly to the existing drive pinion gear, and shaft. The wire rope, capacity, size and structural strength shall meet or exceed the performance of the original part. Delivery: All parts shall be adequately protected to prevent damage during shipment and handling. The parts shall be wrapped and packed in crates or on palettes. Delivery shall be FOB destination All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. All submissions must be received no later than 21 September 2010 by 10:00 am EST. Late submissions will not be considered.
