- Sole Source J&A "THIS IS CURRENTLY AN UNFUNDED REQUIREMENT THAT MAY OR MAY NOT BE FUNDED BY 30 SEP 10." Because of this, all of the CLINS may not be awarded. The Government reserves the right to award to specific CLINS that meet within the Government Budget restraints. FEDBIZOPS NOTICE OF INTENT FOR SOLE SOURCE: The 10th Contracting Squadron, Directorate of Contracting, United States Air Force Academy, Colorado, intends to award a sole source commercial purchase order to SWIMEX, INC., 846 Airport Rd. Fall River, MA 02720-4735 for the following items: CLIN 0001 SwimEx Plunge Pools - Medium Cold Tank ( 2 piece tank) The pool's size is 8' 6" x 8' 6" with a 3' 6" water depth. The empty pool weighs approximately 21000 lbs. The pool contains 735 gallons of water and weighs 7652 lbs. with water. Unit is split into two separate pieces to be assembled on site enabling fit through a 4.5' x 7' door opening The SwimEx cold plunge is free-standing and self-supporting and can be installed in-ground or above ground. The pools are prefabricated in fiberglass and then covered in tile. The standard pools are white with border color to match team colors with the team logo tile included. STANDARD FEATURES Includes plumbing Kit, eight (8) pre-plumbed spa jets, thermal blanket cover, 3-ton chiller and filtration system. Shell includes perimeter seating and walk in steps with handrails. CHILLER, PUMP & FILTER UNITS The unit is equipped with a 3 Hp Intelliflow variable speed circulating pump, capable of turning the water over every 30 minutes. The filtration pump meets the current VGB(Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act) Safety guidelines in that it there are two main drains and the pump is equipped with a Safety Vacuum Release System (SVRS) to eliminate entrapment and meet current codes. The washable cartridge filter has 320 sq. ft. of surface area. Water turnover is specially designed for maximum water cleanliness and clarity. There are four washable cartridge filters enclosed in the filter housing. A 3-ton, self contained chiller is standard equipment and will cool the water down to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Please note proper ventilation is required in the chiller/equipment room to keep ambient temperature from overheating chiller. Comes with a split chiller system is available and recommended to prevent heat build up in equipment space. The split chiller includes an indoor compressor and outdoor condenser. JET SYSTEM The unit is pre plumbed with 8 therapy jets that work via a venturi system. The jet system has a separate 3 HP IntelliFlow Variable speed pump designed to create a full therapy environment. The pump is also equipped as a SVRS and tied to split suctions to ensure it meets the current VGB Act. The jet system is controlled by an air buttons located on the end of the tank. One button will start and stop the pump and the second will add air into the jets. PLUMBING The spa is pre-plumbed with one 2" P.V.C. connection point to feed the filtration system and one 2" connection point to connect to the return inlets. A pre-plumbed 2" suction and return fitting is for the jet system. All connections are pvc. ELECTRICAL The chiller unit and pumps are all 208/240V single phase. A total of 60 amp service will be required for both units. BASE REQUIREMENTS The tank requires a surface that is flat and level to be placed on. Unit can be backfilled or additional support can be installed for a free-standing unit. CLIN 0002 SwimEx Plunge Pools - Medium Hot Tank (2 piece tank) The pool's size is 8' 6" x 8'6" " with a 3'6" water depth. The empty pool weighs approximately 1700 lbs. The pool contains 735 gallons of water and weighs 7652 lbs. with water. Unit is split into two separate pieces to be assembled on site enabling fit through a 4.5' x 7' door opening The SwimEx hot spa is free-standing and self-supporting and can be installed in-ground or above ground. The pools are prefabricated in fiberglass and then covered in tile, resulting in superior heat and cold retention and unmatched beauty. The standard pools are white with border color to match team colors with the team logo tile included. HEATER, PUMP & FILTER UNITS The unit is equipped with a 3 Hp Intelliflow variable speed circulating pump, capable of turning the water over every 30 minutes. The filtration pump meets the current VGB(Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act) Safety guidelines in that it there are two main drains and the pump is equipped with a Safety Vacuum Release System (SVRS) to eliminate entrapment and meet current codes. The heater is capable of maintaining the spa temperature to 104 °F. JET SYSTEM The unit is pre plumbed with 8 therapy jets that work via a venturi system. "DoD unique item identification" means a system of marking items delivered to DoD with unique item identifiers that have machine-readable data elements to distinguish an item from all other like and unlike items. If additional costs are associated with complying with DFAR 252.211-7003, please identify those costs as a separate line item in your quote. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 326130 and the SBA size standard is 500. All responsible sources may submit a response, which if received in a timely manner, will be considered. This synopsis is for notification purposes only and does not constitute a solicatation for bids or proposals. Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 and 13 procedures will be utilized for this acquisition. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The existence of the ombudsman does not affect the authority of the program manager, contracting officer, or source selection official. Further, the ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals, the source selection process, or the adjudication of protests or formal contract disputes. The ombudsman may refer the party to another official who can resolve the concern. (b) Before consulting with an ombudsman, interested parties must first address their concerns, issues, disagreements, and/or recommendations to the contracting officer for resolution.
