Description

The V A Connecticut Healthcare System plans to award a sole source contract in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, with Focus Diagnostics, 5785 Corporate Avenue, Cypress, CA 90630. for the MOL1001 Integrated Cycler and required supplies. The Focus integrated cycler is the highest throughput instrument available for PCR-based detection of viral nucleic acid. This instrument is capable of tripling the current Virology laboratory specimen throughput as compared to current assays. It also has future capability of running other assays from raw un-extracted samples. It will increase capacity and decrease turnaround time without increasing personnel. The Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.301, 6.302. No Solicitation will be issued. A determination not to compete this proposed contract is based solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. The anticipated award date is on or before September 22, 2010. Please direct all questions regarding this procurement to mark.aligata@va.gov no later than 10:00AM on Wednesday, September 22, 2010. Telephone response will not be accepted. The determination to conduct a competitive procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer
