- This synopsis constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The United States Department of the Interior (DOI), Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation, and Enforcement (BOEMRE) has a competitive requirement for reinistatement and renewal of SUN expired licenses and support. Award will be made to the offeror whose quote gives evidence of the greatest value as outlined in this synopsis. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items/services prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation "(FAR) Subpart 12.6, in conjunction with FAR 13.5, as applicable and as supplemented with this notice. This accquisition will be accomplished using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This solicitation/synopsis incorporates provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAR Circular 2005-30 and the DOI Acquisition Regulation. It is the contractors responsibility to be familiar with applicable clauses and provisions. The North Amercian Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 541519 Other Computer Related Services, $21.0 milion. This solicitation is a small busines set-aside. REQUIREMENT: Quotes are being requested for reinstatement and renewal of expired icenses and support for all Sun Microsystem Computers operated within the BOEMRE. Due to the recent acquisition of Sun Microsystems by Oracle, this reinstatement must follow the current Oracle Policy of Sun Recertified Technical Support (RTS) Program and Payment of Back-Support which is as follows: Under the new terms and conditions of Oracle Sun Contracts, those which have expired 90 days or greater, even if under warrant, need to pay back-support to the contract's expiration date and one year follow on. In the case of BOEMRE, its Sun Agent Contract M09PD00057 expired on 01/15/2010 so the cost esimate inculdes back support from 01/15/2010, plus one year support moving forward from 09/01/2010 until 08/30/2011. In addition, any Sun equipment covered by a third party maintenance agreement or a Sun manager agreement will have back-support waived. However, BOEMRE will need to pay a recertification fee and a full year of maintenance going forward. This is a one-time opportunity to bring all Sun equipment backunder the Oracle umbrella, which BOEMRE must do. This fee must be listed on the on the cost estimate for only the 22 servers that were under SUN manager. Quotes are being obtained for a full year of support of the products listed on the INVENTORY plus reinstatement fees. All quoted prices should be shown independently of each other. 1.
