Description
This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line (NECO) site located at http://ww.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Naval Systems Command. Note: The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, Rhode Island is NOT accepting quotes or proposals via submission through NECO. NUWD Division Newport intends to place a sole source Fixed Price order with Alion Science and Technology Corp. for systems and software engineering support for the MacDSP Spectralyzer Acoustic Analysis System (SAA). The tasking is to include life-cycle maintenance anf MacDSP Spectralyzer code as well as provision of engineering technical assistance for MacDSP workstation modifications and upgrades. The contractor shall provide technical services to system configure and integrate the MacDSP SAA system hardware and software, perform operational and acoustic testing, and maintenance support. The total estimated level o feffort is 600 hours; the period of performance is for 1 year. No solicitation is expected to be released before 30 November 2010. The proposed action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source using SAP and commercial item procedures as set forth in FAR Parts 12 and 13. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
