- Description
- The project consists of furnishing all plant, labor and materials for installation of a new trashrack, to include excavation of existing riprap to drive piles, constructing a walkway along the trashrack and modifying existing handrailing at the top of the sheet piling walls. Also, the work includes installing anchored stainless steel plates and epoxy grouting in place in the inlet bays. Furthermore, a temporary steel sheetpiling wall will be constructed across the channel, deep dewatering wells will be installed outside the inlet channel area on top bank and the inlet area of the pumping station will be unwatered/dewatered. The work includes removal of soil sediment that covers the riprap in the inlet channel area between the pump station inlet at the west end to the proposed steel sheet pile wall at the east end and from top bank on the north side to top bank on the south side. Also, the work includes developing video documentation of the foundation drain system with permanent video recordings on DVDs, replacing the piping and check valves in manholes #1 and #3, and replacing the two flap gates in the northern and southern pump bays with curved bill check valves. After construction the sheet piling wall is to be removed and riprap will be replaced. Furthermore, rust holes in the existing steel sheet piling will be repaired and all the existing piling shall be sandblasted and painted. Also, the work includes providing environmental protection.
