Description
The 6th Annual IT Security Automation Conference Sponsored by National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), and the National Security Agency (NSA) will be held September 27 - 29, 2010 at the Baltimore Convention Center, located in downtown Baltimore, MD. As part of the conference, DHS Federal Network Security (FNS) Branch and the Information Security Management and Identity Management Committee (ISIMC) Continuous Monitoring Working Group (CMWG) are facilitating a hands-on "Continuous Monitoring Workshop" on September 29 at 1:15 PM. The purpose of the workshop is to generate dialog on automation, standardization and defining/generating useful measures that provide visibility into the security posture of organizations. The workshop will assist organizations in defining and obtaining data via automated feeds from Security Tools to generate useful and actionable information for awareness and reporting. The workshop is open to Government, private sector, and vendor communities. At the workshop, leaders from the FNS/CWMG will facilitate small workgroup discussions and provide the opportunity for representatives from each breakout to report out on their discussions, findings and recommendations.
