- The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) in Milwaukee, WI intends to negotiate on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13) with Barrx Medical Incorporated, 540 Oakmead Parkway, Sunnyvale, CA 94085-4022 as the only source that can provide a system that removes diseased tissue with cautery, destroying the unwanted tissue. It also offers a treatment modality that prevents the development of cancer in a patient with Barrets and prevents death from an already established cancer. Specifically, the contractor shall provide the following: 1 - Haloflex Generator, (Part #1190A-115A, Cart-100, Quantity 1); 2 - 18MM Ablation Catheter, (Part #32041-18, Quantity 1); 3 - 22MM Ablation Catheter, (Part #32041-22, Quantity 1); 4 - 25MM Ablation Catheter, (Part #32041-25, Quantity 1); 5 - 28MM Ablation Catheter, (Part #32041-28, Quantity 1); 6 - 31MM Ablation Catheter, (Part #32041-31, Quantity 1); 7 - 47.5MM Sizing Balloon, (Part #3441C, Quantity 1); 8 - Halo Ablation Catheter, (Part #90-9100, Quantity 5); 9 - Halo Cap-Small, (Part #CP-001A, Quantity 1); 10 - Halo Guidewire, (Part #GW-002B, Quantity 6); This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures (IAW FAR 13). There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 339112 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. However, parties interested in responding to this notice will need to submit technical data sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. All capability statements received within 5 days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Capability statements shall be submitted by email only as a MS Word or Adobe PDF attachment to Scott Ivy at scott.ivy@va.gov Statements are due by 8:00 CST 27 Sep 2010. No phone calls accepted.
