Description
Sole Source. The Mission and Installation Contracting Command Center-Yuma, U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground (USAYPG), Yuma, Arizona intends to negotiate a firm-fixed price contract on a sole source basis with L-3 Communications Brashear, 615 Epsilon Dr, Pittsburgh, PA 15238-2807. Pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), L-3 Communications Brashear is the only source reasonably available. Currently, the USAYPG utilizes L-3 lens and laser systems located on YPGs KTM systems. L-3 is the source that manufacturered these systems and have proprietary rights and data. YPG requires the integration of these systems and in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) only one source is reasonably available. The North American Classification System (NAICS) code is 541511 with a standard size of $25 million. This contract will consist of Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) 0001, Quantity: 1, Unit of Issue: Each, Description: Software development; lens tear down, cleaning, inspection, and alignment of SR50 Lens Assembly, part number 504706; and the integration and test of ALST laser and Brashear Focus on Range Controller. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirements or submit proposals. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOPALS. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If you feel that your firm possesses the ability to provide these requirements, then you must respond by demonstrating your firms technical capability to meet these requirements by 27 September 2010 8:00 AM MST. In order to protect proprietary information and prevent the unintentional releasing of guarded information all interested firms must conduct their own research regarding the specifications of the above listed item.
