- ****ATTENTION****FORMAL COMMUNICATION RELATED TO THIS ACQUISITION SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO VELMA HOWARD. You may FAX or mail your request ATTN: CCAM-CH-A (Bldg 5678), Velma Howard, Contract Specialist, FAX number 256-876-9066 or Claretha Jennings, Contracting Officer, FAX number 256-876-9066. NO TELEPHONE REQUEST WILL BE ACCEPTED. The proposed action will be a new firm fixed price contract, which will include a base year requirement of 100 each with a 100 percent option to purchase additional quantities, if necessary. The government proposes to procure Ballistic Protection System Helicopter Internal Cargo Handling System Interoperability Modification Kits for the Cargo Helicopter CH-47, NSN: 1560-01-554-3400, PN: HM-200-00. Items will be shipped FOB destination with delivery to Sierra Army Depot. Required delivery is 24 each 8 weeks after contract award, 40 each within 18 weeks after contract award, and 36 each within 30 weeks after contract award. This item is restricted to Protective Materials, Division of the Protective Group, 14040 NW 58th Court, Miami Lakes, FL, 33014, Cage Code 3U457. Protective Materials is the only known source that can currently meet Government technical requirements and the required delivery schedule. Subcontract opportunities should be addressed to Protective Materials. The cost to the Government to breakout this part and acquire it competively has been determined to exceed the projected savings over the life span of the part. Adequate technical data is not available for this acquisition. Firms that recognize and can produce the required item described above are encouraged to identify themselves. Firms are encouraged to seek source approval in order to compete for future solicitations by accessing the website www.redstone.army.mil/cmo and looking under Standard Aviation and Missile Source Approval Request (SAMSAR). All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the Agency. The closing date annotated is an estimated date and may be adjusted dependent upon the date of release for solicitation; however, the solicitation will not close prior to the dates stated above.
