- Description
- DLA Energy intends to issue a small purchase order to PerkinElmer LAS for a piece of laboratory testing equipment. PerkinElmer is the only vendorable to meet DLA Energy's delivery, installation timeframe prior to end of October 2010, functionality and lab testing requiremnt capabilities. The equipment will be used for testing on commercial grade and military specification (MILSPEC) type fuels. Below is the product description for the unit: 1. Clarus 680T GC/MS for Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME) in Aviation Fuel operates in Electron Ionization mode, satisfies required detection limit of 0.5 mg/kg (0.5 ppm) for individual FAME species and is capable of reporting FAME concentrations below the 5 mg/kg (5 ppm level specified in the QC protocol. Clarus instrument is the only GC/MS for dedicated FAME in Aviation Fuel analysis. Obtaining a suitable rating using this method addresses the issue identified in Federal Aviation Administration Airworthiness Bulletin NE-09-2S, and does so using an industry standardized procedure rather than a proprietary one. N6659680: CLARUS 680 GC, 230 Volt Selection, Clarus 600 Gas Chromatograph with Programmable Pneumatic Control (PPC). A microprocessor controlled gas chromatograph, fully controllable from the instrument keyboard. Features include: Ten programme steps and nine ramp rates temperature programming to 450C (oven maximum software controlled). Five method setup, storage, generation and copy. Up to two simultaneous analogue outputs for integrator or recorder, switchable to either detector. Digital electronic pressure readout with capillary injectors. Control of up to six solenoids for split vents and sampling valves. Up to 32-programmable timed events. External computer communications allows full instrument control plus tw simultaneous channels of raw data. Battery RAM storage of GC methods, instrument configuration and automation programs. Control of up to 12 PPC modules. N6658603: Clarus 600 T MS EI, 120/230V Mass spectrometer with Electron Ionization only. Includes state-of-the-art electronics, 1.1200 u mass range, gold component technology, 255L/sec turbomolecular pump, single wide range pressure gauge, complete manuals set for hardware and software, and shipping kit. VENT KIT-TURBOMASS INERT GAS. AUTOSAMPLER 108 2mL sample positions. Priority sample position. Four 4mL wash vials and four 4mL waste vials. Injection into Channel A or Channel B. Programmable vial sequence. Sample size (0-0.5 uL in 0.1 uL steps with a 0.5-uL syringe, 0-5 uL in 0.5 uL steps with a 5-uL syringe and 0-50 uL in 5 uL steps with a 50-uL syringe) Three injection modes; one to fifteen injections per vial. CONSUMABLES KIT-GCMS W/CAP INJECTOR. SPECIALGC BPX-70, Restriction Kit. DLA Energy invites expressions of interest from other potential offerors. Any firm interested in consideration must identify, in writing, its ability to meet the above mentioned delivery, installation timeframe, functionality and requirements capabilities. All expressions of interest must be recieved by email to Bruce.Gunther@dla.mil Not Later than September 24, 2010 by 3:00 PM Eastern Time. Thank you.
