Description

Notice of intent to award a sole source procurement under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (FAR 13). This notice is for information only, a solicitation will not be issued. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 423610, Electrical Apparatus and Equipment, Wiring Supplies, and Related Equipment Merchant Wholesalers with a size standard of 500 Employees. In accordance with FAR 13.106-1, the Government intends to negotiate a sole source contract for rental and maintenance of an external trailer mounted diesel generator and corresponding UPS. The Government believes Runtime Battery Systems LLC is the only source that will satisfy the agency requirements. The Government is contracting for continued rental of an existing unit which was originally awarded competitively. Due to current building/rental regulations the existing unit cannot be removed and a new unit installed. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any firm that believes that it can meet the specifications above may give written notification to the Contracting Officer. All inquiries and concerns must be addressed in writing to USDA ITS Contracting Team, ATTN: Josh Tafoya, 2150 Centre Ave., Bldg. A, Ste. 145, Fort Collins, CO 80526 or sent by email to josh.tafoya@ftc.usda.gov. Responses to this notice must be submitted by the date/time listed on the notice. Interested sources may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements. Responses received will be evaluated; however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government anticipates an award date on or about 1 Oct 2010. Response to this synopsis is not required.
