Description

Questions and Answers for 24 September 2010 are as follows: Solicitation FA3300-10-Q-SNCOCBNTSA002 Question: The requirements call for a "Slab Door", will a "Raised Panel" door be acceptable? Answer: Yes, as long as we see the design first. Question: "Replacement drawer faces must be solid wood, Red Cherry, Semi-Gloss." The next paragraph calls for Red Cherry veneer to be applied to all existing drawer faces. What is the requirement....new drawer faces or veneer over existing drawers? Answer: Replacement drawer faces must be solid wood with a Red Cherry stain, Semi-Gloss finish." The requirement is for new drawer faces. Question: Is the requirement for the doors and drawers to be actual "Cherry wood" or is the requirement solid wood with a "Cherry Finish" ? Cherry wood is about 30-35% higher in cost. The same look can be achieved using a solid wood such as Alder and applying a Cherry Finish. Answer: the requirement is solid wood with a "Cherry Finish Question: How long do we have to complete the job once started? Is this going to be done over a 12 month period or do you want all 20 classrooms completed within a certain time frame? Answer: It can be done in phases that line up with the class breaks. NOTE: Apply veneer to Alcoves. This is the only place that veneer will be used.
