Description
US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with AB Sciex for the purchase of repairs to a API 3200. This is a brand name specific lab instrument repair due to the need for the specific design components that only AB Sciex can provide. The purchase will be from AB Sciex LLC, who is currently the only authorized manufacturer of the brand name specified, the API 3200. *Sole Source determination is based on the need for repairs to instrumentation that will maintain consistency with the existing systems and to maintain absolute compatibility with CBP's existing standard architecture for lab performance. *Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Savannah, GA and is required within 30 days after receipt of order. *The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 811219, Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance. *The Government intends to solicit and negotiate directly with AB Sciex LLC. No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities, list of supporting supplies, and quotation/estimate. The statement of capabilities must be submitted in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow the Government to determine if the party can perform the requirement. A determination to compete this action based on the responses received is in the sole discretion of the Government. All interested parties must express their interest and capabilities in writing via mail, facsimile, or email. Documents over 10 pages total will not be accepted by facsimile. Verifications of receipt of responses are the sole responsibility of the contractor. If no responsive statements are received by September 25, 2010 at 8:00 am EST, an award shall be made to AB Sciex LLC.
