- Under Statutory Authority 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), the VA Great Lakes Acquisition Center intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Makdad Industrial Supply Co., Inc., Altoona, PA, to provide all parts, materials, labor, tools, equipment, and travel necessary for the purchase, installation, and training of software upgrades and data migration services for the currently installed refrigeration temperature monitoring system for all 7 (seven) of the VISN 12 medical facilities. The upgrade must be compatible with the current system and there must be a seamless transition of data migration. This procurement is being conducted in accordance FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitations documents are available and telephone requests will not be honored. However, if a firm believes it can meet the requirements it must furnish information about its products and services, as well as references from other customers who are using these products and service, to the Contracting Officer by 12:00PM (CST) September 3, 2010. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information must be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC GLAC, 5000 W. National Ave Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5457. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Makdad Industrial Supply Co., Inc.
