- 647th Contracting Squadron, Hickam AFB, HI intends to award a brand name contract to an authorized Herman Miller furniture dealer for an Operations Squadron on Hickam AFB. The requirement is a purchase and reconfiguration of Herman Miller Office Furniture / Desk Systems, model Ethospace, to match and be compatible with pre-existing furniture. The Herman Miller furniture will be specifically tailored to meet size, security, accessibility, and workstation design criteria needed for the Mission Critical Operations being conducted within the facility. The proposed contract action is for supplies and services for which the Government intends to solicit companies from a GSA e-Buy posting that can provide the brand name requirement under the authority of FAR 8.405-6(a)(2), an item peculiar to one manufacturer, ordering procedures for Federal Supply Schedule. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. However, interested parties other than Herman Miller furniture dealers that believe they are able to meet this requirement may submit information sufficient to determine compatibility of the specified furniture. Responses should be submitted to juli.chytka@hickam.af.mil, and must be received no later than 1200 HST, 8 Sept 2010. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government, and will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to fully compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
