- This is a Sole Source announcement. No hard copy RFQ will be prepared or made available for distribution. The Government intends to award on a firm fixed price contract to Wilcox Industries Corporation for Night Vision Goggle (NVG) mounting systems to be awarded IAW Simplified Acquisition FAR Part 13. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. The Wilcox NVG mounting system is the current system being utilized by all three of the Special Boat Teams. It is imperative that from the beginning of their training, students learn the proper manipulation and function of their equipment. At this point in training students are learning and developing basic muscle memory and fundamentals. Without utilizing the same equipment they will be utilizing at the team they could begin to form bad habits and develop a training scar. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within three days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Central Contractor Registration is required for all vendors doing business with Department of Defense. Information may be found at http://www.ccr.gov.
