- ERDC Contracting Office intends to solicit sources and pricing under the authority of FAR 13.500 for AGILENT XP NANOINDENTER SOFTWARE UPGRADE. Request vendor MATLAB, INC., 225 WOBURN DRIVE, WOBURN, MA 33106. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures --- only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. This notification will end on Wednesday, 8 Sep 2010 - 11:00 A.M., CDST. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. Interested parties may submit quotes for consideration by the Government to ellaine.r.james@usace.army.mil. Please use solicitation number referenced in the subject line. This software is requird to perform load control testing and testing at varying strain rates. The new capability will allow us to perform micropillar compression testing to support the Polycrystalline Center Directed Research Project, here at ERDC and to perform dynamic indentation testing to support the Investigation of Dynamic Response and Energy Dissipation Mechanisms of Bio-inspired Systems research project. Agilent is the manufacturer of our current nanoindenter and to obtain the capabilities to support material characterization work for various research projects a software upgrade is required. Agilent can provide this software that will properly work for our existing equipment.
