Description
TO PROCURE the optimization of the interoperation of several adaptive optics components in the Air Force Institute of Technology's (AFIT's) Adaptive Optics (AO) research laboratory. To configure components to operate together as a closed-loop control system. To maximize the system performance, properly adjust the components' settings, and ensure the layout of the system is carefully designed. Finally, to perform the design, optimization, re-configuration, and testing of AFIT's AO components. SIC Code is 7600, NAICS Code 811219, Size Standard $7M. This is a SOLE SOURCE procurement, synopsis published for informational purposes only. Solicitation documents are not available. This proposed contract action is for procurement of an item for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.301-1. The proposed source is Science Applications International Corporation: Lasers, Optics and Imaging Laboratory, 1833 Sunset Place, Suite A/B, Longmont, CO 80501. The notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations recieved within five(5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information recieved will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. 'An Ombudsman has been appointed to address concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. The Ombudsman does not diminish the authority of the program director or contracting officer, but communicates contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. WHen requested, the Ombudsman shall maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selections process.'
