Solicitation Number: VA-241-10-RQ-0641 Notice Type: Presolicitation Synopsis: The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Boston Healthcare System, intends to negotiate a sole source contract under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, only one responsible source to Unisyn Medical Technologies, 1150 Catamount Drive, Golden, CO 80305 for the purchase of the following items: 1.Qty (2) - FirstCall aPerio Main Unit, includes computer cable, AC power cord, universal probe holder, user manual and CD watertank. 2.Qty (2) - GE Adapter 3.Qty (2) - Zonare Adapter 4.Qty (2) - iu22/ie33 Mux Adapter 5.Qty (2) - TEE-2 Probe Target 6.Qty (3) - iTest pro suite, includes universal adapter and electrodes This is the only item capable of meeting the Governments needs due to the salient characteristics of the device. This device checks the performance of individual crystals on ultrasound probes from virtually any manufacturer and represents the state of art process for U.S. probe testing. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority FAR Part 6.302-1, for other than full and open competition; only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. Interested offerors may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A firm fixed price contract with no option years is anticipated and shall be awarded. It is the Government's belief that only the proposed candidate possesses the required capabilities to successfully meet this requirement. It is the Government's intention to solicit and negotiate with only this source. Unisyn Medical Technologies is the only known source that can fulfill the Governments requirement. All qualified sources must respond not later than 9 Sep 2010, 2:00 PM EST. Responses must arrive via email to Heather Simpson at heather.simpson3@va.gov. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 423450.
