- Sole Source Intent. The United States Army Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) Center Yuma, Yuma Proving Ground (YPG), Arizona, intends to negotiate a firm-fixed price contract on a sole source basis with Motorola located at 1303 East Algonquin Road, Schaumburg, Illinois 60196. This requirement will be for eight software upgrades with license to upgrade the security of the Motorola PTP600 radios, FIPS 140-2 W/256 BIT AES-LINKS. The software will bring the radios up to the FIPS 140-2 standard with 256 bit encryption. FIPS 140-2 is the Federal Information Processing Standard which is a U.S. Government computer security standard used to accredit cryptographic modules. This must come from an authorized Motorola dealer otherwise warranty of existing equipment will not be valid. Award of this requirement will be in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 12 and Part 13, Acquisition of Commercial Items. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 334220 with a standard size of 750 emp. In order to protect proprietary information and prevent the unintentional releasing of guarded information all interested firms must conduct their own research regarding the specifications of the above listed items. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If you feel that your firm possesses the ability provide these items, interested parties may submit technical literature showing their capability of meeting the Governments requirement by Friday, September 13, 2010 8:00 AM MST.
