Description
The purpose of this modification is to extend the response date to 14 September 2010. Additional questions and answers are provided as follows: 1. The kit has a 8 port interoperability switch. The specification states that the 800 Mhz radio will be a Motorola XTS-5000 radio. Questions: Does the kit need to provide the XTS-5000 radio? Does the kit need to provide other radios? If so what type by manufacturer and model number? Or does the kit provide only radio cables for connection to the 8 port interoperability switch? Answer: The kit only needs to provide the specified XTS 5000. The other cables are on an as needed basis. 2. The change provided on August 31, 2010 deleted the mapping software. Still included in the requirement is the need for GPS. Question: If there is a requirement for the GPS where is this location to be mapped? Does the GPS requirement need to be deleted? Answer: Retain the GPS requirement, we will obtain the mapping software specific to our needs. 3. Regarding the GPS. Question: If there continues to be a GPS requirement, is the requirement to provide the GPS location of the kit or is the requirement to plot GPS coordinates? GPS Receiver, Transmitter, or both? Answer: GPS is for the kit. 4. The requirement is for the Case to have 5 Type N Female connectors, 1 SMA (f) and 1 SMA RF (f). Question: What is the intent of these connectors? Answer: The connectors are for equipment we will add later. 5. The fact that the requirement is to have 7 RF connectors on the case implies that the radios are to be installed within the case. The XTS-5000 is a portable radio. Question: Can you clarify if additional radios are required? If additional radios are required, what type by manufacturer and model number? Answer: Different radios will be selected according to each situation. We will not know the radio until we are tasked to assist different organizations or locations. 6. The instructions state that a detailed quote' will be provided. Question: Can you provided some guidance on what is required? The clarifications state that the GSM cellular 1800 Mhz needs to be quoted separate from the rest of the system. Question: Do we provide one price for the rest of the system or do we itemize the items contained in the communications kit? Answer: We need a quote on the GSM and the communications kit will need to be itemized. We will most likely not buy a GSM with every kit, but several will need it. 7. Water tight high impact ABS case Question: Are there any penetrations allowed through the case when closed? Answer: It must be water tight if dropped in or covered by water. 8. Question: Does the kit operate with radios, antennas etc& when closed? Answer: The kit does not operate when closed. 9. Color Fax/copier/printer/scanner, including shared printing and networked storage Question: Does the fax/printer/copier/scanner require special paper? Answer: The fax/copier/printer must use standard paper. 10. Voice over IP hardware and software Question: How many VoIP connections are required? Does the system use a soft phone installed on the laptop to meet this requirement or is there a separate device connected by USB? Answer: A minimum of one VOIP phone is connected with the computer. If more phones can be added, that is a positive plus to the system. 11. Broadband satellite receiver Question: What is the maximum physical dimensions of the satellite receiver? Does it require the case to be open when operating with the kit? Answer: BEGAN satellite receiver. The kit is only used when opened. 12. Cross banding, ACU-T, ICRI, and CITRIX Question: Please clarify CITRIX. ACU-T and ICRI do not have 8 radio ports please clarify. Answer: The normal ports of these systems are what we want. 13. 16 hour power supply with rechargeable/replaceable batteries Question: Is this requirement with the laptop running on its own batteries at least for part of the time? Answer: The batteries will run all of the equipment. The kit needs the ability to be hooked into an external 120v power source. 14. Embedded 8 port interoperable gateway Question: Does the 8 port interoperability gateway connect UHF, VHF, HF, FXO, FXS, E&M and SIP? Answer: Yes, it connects them. 15. Integrated 3G Question: Does the equivalent to the SPRINT HOT SPOT remove the 3G wireless router requirement? Does it have to be 4G/Wimax capable? Answer: No it doesn't remove the 3G wireless router requirement. No, it doesn't have to be 4G/Wimax capable. 16. GSM cellular 1800 MHz. Pricing for the GMS cell phone solution needs to be quoted separate from the rest of the quote. The Government reserves the right to purchase the kit with or without a cellular solution. Question: How many concurrent calls? GSM/ CDMA? Range? Answer: Minimum of 12 calls, 24 calls preferred. The range is 7 miles.
