Description
The Miniature Munitions Division, Armament Directorate (AFMC), announces an Industry Day for the potential future acquisition of the Joint Miniature Munitions Bomb Rack Unit (JMM BRU) to be held on 14 September 2010 at Eglin Air Force Base, FL. The Government will hold the Industry Day at the University of Florida Research and Engineering Education Facility, 1350 North Poquito Road, Shalimar, FL 32579 from 0800 to 1630 hrs. The JMM BRU is a modification to the existing BRU-61/A carriage system. A Sources Sought, 918ARSG-SDB-10-001, was previously posted on 09 April 2010 and amended on 01 September 2010 to determine potential interested sources that possess the skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required to successfully develop and provide a non-pyrotechnic JMM BRU for suspension and release of Small Diameter Bomb I (SDB I) and the Small Diameter Bomb II (SDB II), which is currently under development, for US Air Force and DoN aircraft. The purpose of this event is to provide available program information pertaining to the JMM BRU that includes a JMM BRU program and draft requirements package overview by the Government and a structured open forum question and answer session with interested companies. The JMM BRU requirement contains classified elements that will not be discussed at the Industry Day event. However, we anticipate classified information will be presented in the future; therefore, responding firms are required to have a secret level security clearance. The Government plans to have structured discussions about the JMM BRU requirement and potential future solicitation. One-on-one sessions with potential prime contractors may be scheduled by written request only. The one-on-one sessions will follow the structured open forum question and answer session. One-on-one discussions with interested prime contractors, in a proprietary only forum, will be scheduled and the length of time allotted for each potential offeror will be based on the number of requests received. Each potential offeror will receive an equal allotment of time. One-on-one sessions will be scheduled in the order requests are received and you will receive an email notification of the time and location of the session. Please review the information located on the FedBizOps website prior to the event date and keep in mind that this information may be updated periodically. Companies attending Industry Day shall limit their representation to no more than four (4) individuals. Companies planning to participate in the Industry Day activities, shall state if they are interested in being the prime contractor or if they are looking for subcontracting opportunities. Companies shall provide the Name of the Company, Point of Contact (POC), title, email address, and phone number along with the following information for each participant: social security number, birth country, birth city and state (if in the US), citizenship and country of residence. Please provide the aforementioned information to Brenda Stroud at brenda.stroud@eglin.af.mil or contact her at (850) 883-2848. This Industry Day event is open to all interested parties. Attendance at Industry Day and any discussions/release of information is strictly voluntary. The Government will not pay for any information or costs associated with attending this event. This announcement is not a formal solicitation and is not a request for proposal. Any formal solicitation will be announced at a later date.
