- Description
- Justification and Approval for CTNOSC Furniture Repurpose The_2nd Signal Center, CTNOSC requires furniture redesign and purchase/installation of furniture for the Network Operations Facility (NOF) admin area in room 124. The admin area currently consists of four cubicles occupied by one administrative assistant. The current admin area does not provide the needed functionality for the reception and screening of visitors, nor does it provide for adequate monitoring to secure the area. The cubicle walls are high and the administrative assistant has no visibility ofthe area. The area contains a safe and a classified printer that require constant monitoring. The current configuration does not allow adequate visibility ofthe area. The current configuration also provides for a lot of distraction; visitors must walk around the room to find the receptionist cubicle. The area could be better served by having a more open receptionist desk without the high walls. This will allow the administrative assistant to address visitors as they enter the room and have better visibility of the area. The Director, C-TNOSC and other management staff in the offices receive a large volume of personnel in their office throughout the day. Excess work station parts will be utilized in room 10 of the NOF to create suitable work bench area for the Windows Support Management Team (WSMT) and Active Directory (AD) Teams in the NOF basement. The WSMT and AD teams build mission boxes and servers in support ofthe LANDWARNET mission. The work benches will facilitate the building of enterprise systems and allow storage of tools for building in a centralized area.
