- This is an amendment to Announcement R11PS67000 - Presolicitation Notice/Procurement: Generator Cooling Water System R11PS67000 is a Combined synopsis solicitation. The following includes the specifications and salient characteristics for brand name or equal equipment: If offeror provides an equivalent product FAR 52.211-6 applies, and offer shall contain explanation of characteristics identified below with applicable product literature drawings and or specifications to be used for determination of an equivalent product and for evaluation of offer. This is a RAX project (activity # 1003) for the purchase/supply of 5 centrifugal cooling water pumps, 6 - 8 inch multi-basket duplex strainers and 4 - 3 inch duplex strainers. This is a supply contract, the items will be installed by Government personnel8" multi-basket strainer, 900 gpm Centrifugal pump and Electromotor, 3" duplex strainer Multi-Basket StrainerFurnish six (6) duplex strainers. Duplex Strainers are installed in a pipeline to remove dirt and other unwanted debris from water that would be used to cool a Turbine Generator Unit, this water will be pumped up to 6 surface air coolers by a centrifugal pump. Straining is accomplished by directing the water thru 1/8" sized holes in a perforated basket. The strainer operates continuously and the pipeline flow never has to be shut down for strainer basket cleaning. A multi-basket strainer, providing 4 baskets in each of the two straining chambers for a total of eight per duplex strainer. Zurn model 570 Multi-Basket Duplex Strainers as Manufactured by Eaton Hayward Strainers, (813-241-4900), Eatonhaywardstrainers.com, or approved equal, having the following essential characteristics:-Continuous flow - no shutdown for basket cleaning. -Fabricate each strainer body and cover of cast iron or stainless steel materials.-Furnish strainer body and cover with lifting lugs. Bolted cover for easy access to strainer baskets-Furnish strainers with 1/2-inch pipe connections on both the inlet and outlet ends, fit connections with " N.P.T plugged pressure gage taps -Furnish each strainer with a "drainplug at the lowest point in the strainer. -Sliding gate design Flow is switched from one basket chamber to the other by a sliding gate mechanism operated by hand wheels. -Compact -Perforated stainless steel mesh baskets 1/8"" standard-Pressure equalization valve to relieve pressure when filling empty chamber-Vent valves to relieve water pressure and air when re-pressuring empty chamber-Cover lift davit -125 psi rated-8 " ID X 14"OD Liquid end parts 125/125 lb flanged with 8 bolt holes-36" wide X 34 " overall length X 25" height with " mounting holes -Center of flange outlet 13 " to back of hand wheel-Center of flange inlet and outlet to bottom of strainer base mounts 11"-Each strainer to be supplied with duplex pressure gauges with the following properties: o Bronze bourdon-tube, adjustable movement type. o Movement made of phosphor bronze, nickel, stainless steel, Monel steel, nitrided steel, or any combination thereof. o Bushings of any of the above-mentioned material but different composition or hardness than the shafts. o Case of brass or aluminum alloy. o Dust-proof and moisture-proof case. o Glycerin liquid filled. o 4-1/2-inch dials. o Dial range: 0-30 PSI o Case and ring finished in black and dial in white with black markings. o Red & Black indicating pointers. o Shatter resistant window. o Conformance to ASME B40.100. o Grade A accuracy or better. o Furnished with shutoff cocks and pulsation dampeners. o Bottom connected with 1/4 inch male pipe connections. o Measure pressure at inlet and outlet of each strainer. -Each Duplex strainer shall be supplied with all components and ready to be installed and operational.-The Duplex strainers shall be provided with manufacturer's standard finish.-Each Duplex strainer shall be supplied with complete operation and maintenance manuals and complete parts manuals. Typed and bound operation and maintenance manual which includes: o Electrical schematic and wiring diagrams o Outline, assembly, and detail drawings with weights and parts and material lists. 900 Gallon Per Minute (gpm) at 65 foot head, complete Centrifugal Water Pump units with motors close coupled radially split end suction pump centrifugal type. Furnish five (5) 5" Centrifugal-Electro pumps. These water pumps will be pumping water from the turbine draft tube discharge of a Generating Unit under positive suction (of approximately 5 psi) through the six surface coolers. These centrifugal pumping units are to be rated at 900 gpm at 65 feet head. Overall efficiency of the pumping unit shall be as high as practicable and consistent with the best modern design. Unit Cooling Water Pumping Units shall be within 5 percentage points of the best efficiency point. Pump shall operate satisfactorily without detrimental surges, vibration, or dynamic unbalance within the required head range. Peerless pump Model C1050A manufactured by Peerless Pump Company and supplied by Industrial Systems, Billings, Montana (406-252-6671), poc ssummers@ind.sys.com, or approved equal, having the following essential characteristics: -Flow (US gpm) 900-Head (ft) 65-Full load efficiency (%) 85%-Speed (RPM) 1773-6" x125 lb flanged inlet suction with eight bolt holes-5"x 125 lb flanged outlet discharge with eight bolt holes-Suction pressure on the inlet is 5 psi, head pressure on the outlet is approx. 30 psi-Flanged suction and discharge connections drilled in accordance with ASME B 16.5.-Bronze impeller supplied shall be one piece casting of a diameter not greater the 90% of the casing cutwater diameter-Rotation, clockwise-Pump Casing shall be cast iron with smooth water passage. Furnish casing with removable and renewable bronze wearing rings where there are close-running clearances between the impeller and the casing. -A face type Mechanical seal with ceramic stationary seat, carbon washer. Buna N rubber flexible members, 18-8 stainless steel metal parts and 18-8 stainless steel spring. Seal shall be mounted over a bronze shaft sleeve. Seal to rated for 225 degrees F. maximum.-Bronze shaft sleeve-Replaceable wear pad and stuffing box-Center of inlet flange to bottom of motor casing base mount 8.75"-Center of right discharge outlet to center of pump 7.12"-Center of inlet flange to top of outlet flange 9"-Inlet flange to intermediate casing 6 1/4"-Total length of motor and pump 32 "-Center of outlet flange to face of inlet flange 7.12" -Motor: o 3 phase, 440V, 60Hz, o TEFC enclosure type o Suitable for indoor operation at an elevation of 3167.75 feet above sea level o Provide eyebolts or hooks for lifting. o 20 hp: Sufficient to carry continuously maximum possible pump load developed under specified conditions without benefit of service factor. o 1773 rpm's o 60 cycles o 50/25 Amps o 1.25 service factor o Code F o Nema Design B o Full load efficiency (%) 89.5% o Construction: Rigid frame to adequately support the motor pump unit and associated stresses o Ambient temperature: 60 degrees F o Duty: Continuous. o Rotation facing opposite shaft end Clockwise o Bottom of motor frame 12 " front and sideways o Bottom of motor frame bolts center to center 10", front and back bolt holes o Motor width 13 "Each Pump Unit shall be supplied with all components and ready to be installed and operational. o The Pump Unit shall be provided with manufacturer's standard finish. o Each Pump Unit shall be supplied with complete operation and maintenance manuals and complete parts manuals. o Typed and bound operation and maintenance manual which includes: Electrical schematic and wiring diagrams o Outline, assembly, and detail drawings with weights and parts and material listsSpare Parts: Furnish the following spare parts for the unit cooling water pumping units. Furnish all spare parts which are interchangeable with and of the same materials and workmanship as the corresponding original parts of the pumping units. Package spare parts in hermetically sealed containers labeled with manufacturer's name, part description and part number. o One complete set of gaskets and mechanical seals for each pump. o One complete set of wearing rings for each pump. o One complete set of motor bearings for each pump. o One complete bronze replacement impeller for each pump. 3" Duplex Strainer disc valve typeFurnish 4, 300psi duplex strainers or equal having the following essential characteristics. A duplex strainer is installed in a pipeline to remove dirt and other unwanted debris from water that would be used to cool Generator Unit bearings supplied from the spiral case of each unit. The thrust, upper and lower guide bearings share a common water supply line; this water is also used to cool the upper wearing ring when the unit is motoring. Straining is accomplished by directing the water thru 1/8" sized holes in a perforated basket. The strainer operates continuously and the pipeline flow never has to be shut down for strainer basket cleaning. The Government reserves the right to cancel this combined synopsis solicitation at any time.
