Description
We are planning to combine the Installation Support Services (ISS) requirements for Wake Island and King Salmon divert location with Eareckson Air Station, Shemya, AK. We are looking for comments from industry concerning the plan. 1. What benefits will be derived from consolidating the requirements? Will there be any cost savings, economies of scale gained, quality improvements, better terms and conditions, etc....? Quantify if possible. 2. What are the draw-backs of consolidating the requirements? Will any potential negative impacts substantially exceed the benefits of combining all three locations into one requirement? Quantify if possible. 3. What benefits will be derived from a 7-year period of performance vice a 5-year period of performance? 4. What impact will the combination of all three locations into one requirement have on small business? 5. Is it feasible to expect one contractor to provide effective stewardship of these three locations geographically separated by such great distances? If the answer is yes, is it possible to identify the elimination of redundancies and waste? 6. What challenges do you see in the short term and what benefits do you see in the long term? 7. What are the communication and management challenges and/or benefits of geographically separated teams? 8. Request responses by COB 12 Oct 2010. 9. All information received will be considered proprietary. The information is requested for market research and is not a solicitation announcement for proposals. No contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. There is no solicitation available at this time.
