Description
RECOVERY - PER FAR 5.7 THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY; THEREFORE FAR 5.203 DOES NOT APPLY. THIS OPPORTUNITY WAS AVAILABLE ONLY TO CONTRACTOR(S) UNDER THE CURRENT CONTRACT NUMBER(S): DWG & ASSOCIATES, INC. W912PL-10-D-0008-0001 The Design Build Contractor is to provide labor, materials, tools, equipment, and design-build services necessary for Design Build of project 600-09-205 RECOVERY B126 REPLACE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, PHASE II and modifications per design drawings and specifications at the Long Beach Veterans Medical Center, Long Beach, California. Include all design, drawing, specifications, engineering, construction and administration required to satisfy the requirements stated in the RFP. Scope of work is limited to Building 126 and includes but not limited to the following: 1. Provide 100% construction documents (plans and specifications) based on the 65% construction documents in the RFP. 2. Replace switchboards indicated in the RFP. 3. Replace motor control centers indicated in the RFP. 4. Replace distribution panel boards indicated in the RFP. 5. Replace branch circuit panel boards indicated in the RFP. 6. Replace dry-type transformers indicated in the RFP. 7. Replace enclosed circuit breakers indicated in the RFP. 8. Provide temporary power to feed the loads of the switchboards, MCC, panel boards and transformers being replaced. Any power outage shall be minimized and carefully coordinated with VALB project manager and Corps of Engineers Resident Engineer. 9. Relocate electrical equipment to meet required NEC clearance requirements. Extend feeder and branch circuit wiring to the new locations as required. 10. Provide Structural Support for the Electrical Equipment designed by Structural Engineer. 11. Provide a construction phasing plan to be coordinated and approved by VALB and Corps of Engineer Resident Engineer. 12. General Requirements: 12.1 Construction work shall be performed within the hours of 5:00 pm and 3:00 am. 12.2 Provide a minimum 14-day notice to the Government before any electrical outage. Maximum outage of 8 hours is acceptable when replacing a transformer. 12.3 Provide an adequate number of temporary panels to avoid work stoppage and delays. 12.4 In areas where the temporary panels have to be located outside the electrical rooms because of space restrictions, work has to be performed on weekends. 12.5 Replace equipment on normal power prior to replacing equipment on emergency power. Start work on the top floor. 12.5.1 Contractor can work on only one panel per floor at a time, on as many floors as possible. 12.6 Contractor shall comply with all the safety requirements of OSHA and VHA Directive 2006-056. b. Provide for and maintain all necessary protection of building systems and services during construction. Provide cover to any equipment in construction areas to protect from dust buildup while performing work. Perform touch-up painting of all affected areas as needed. c. Contractor shall prepare and submit for approval shop drawings and product data of intended equipment and materials to be used. Provide manufacturer information, catalog cuts, and shop drawings to clearly indicate construction work. Do not start construction until all materials, submittals, and equipment are on hand.
