Description
JOFOC Posting for Fetal Growth awards The JOFOC supporting these awards is attached for more detailed information. The Non-Competitive Request for Proposals (RFP) will provide supplemental funding for the five (5) existing contractors in the National Standard for Normal Fetal Growth study. Four are clinical sites of which Columbia University is one, and the fifth contractor is the Fetal Growth Data Coordinating Center (DCC). For the (4) existing clinical site contractors, this supplemental funding for the six/hospitals (two contractors have multiple sites), in combination with new awards under a competitive solicitation, will shorten the recruitment period to 2 years from 3 years; broaden the scope of the protocol from single pregnancy to twin pregnancy; recruit 500 more women with twin gestation; conduct detailed nutrition surveys on all participants instead of a quarter of the women; have a better representation of race/ethnicity; and, investigate biological and socio-behavioral factors that affect fetal growth (over and under growth). With additional ARRA funding we propose to broaden the research scope for the clinical site contracts to address critical knowledge gaps and accelerate study progress. Specifically, we will (1) broaden the scope from singleton pregnancy to twin pregnancy by recruiting 180 monochorionic and 180 dichorionic twin pregnancies to study population; and (2) conduct a detailed nutrition survey in all study participants in lieu of the original projected one quarter of study participants. For the Fetal Growth data coordinating center contract, the DCC will be responsible for an increase in: (1)data collection activities due to the expansion of the current clinical site contracts for the addition of a twin component as well as the addition as well as the addition of four “new” clinical sites, (2)lab specimen tracking, and (3)Statistical support and analysis of data. Cost reimbursement type contracts are appropriate for these acquisitions because the uncertainties involved in contract performance are great enough that costs cannot be estimated with sufficient accuracy to permit the use of a fixed-price contracts. In addition to Columbia University, the following contract modifications were awarded under this JOFOC: 1.Name and Address of the Contractor: DUNS: 005436803 Northwestern University (HHNS275200800012C) 633 Clark Street Evanston, Illinois 60208-1110 Place of Performance: Evanston, IL 60208-1110 Contract Modification Award Amount: $1,150,035 2.Name and Address of the Contractor: DUNS: 04-670-5849 The Regents of the University of California (HHSN27520080028C) 300 University Tower Irvine, CA 92697-7600 Place of Performance: Irvine, CA Contract Modification Award Amount: $3,690,668 3.Name and Address of the Contractor: DUNS: 183710748 Medical University of South Carolina (HHSN275200800014C) 19 Hagood Avenue, Suite 606 MSC 808 Charleston, SC 29403-5120 Place of Performance: Charleston, SC Contract Modification Award Amount: $2,414,063 4.
