Description The National Cancer Institute (NCI), Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) requires a service and preventative maintenance agreement for eight (8) Government-owned GE Amersham AKTA Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography systems (FPLC) as follows: Model 18190026/Serial 01298279 Custom AKTAFPLC without FRAC; Model 18190026/Serial 01298274 Custom AKTAFPLC without FRAC; Model 18608320/Serial 01182448 AKTAFPLC with FRAC 950; Model 28406264/Serial 1398016 AKTAPURIFIER 10; Model 18114505/Serial 1372227 AKTAEXPLORER 10S; Model 18130000/Serial 1446118 AKTAEXPLORER 100A; Model 18130000/Serial 1469201 AKTAEXPLORER 100A; Model 18608320/Serial 1054440 AKTAFPLC with FRAC 950. This acquisition will be processed in accordance with simplified acquisition procedures as stated in FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1). The North American Industry Classification System Code is 811219 and the business size standard is $7.0 million. The period of performance shall be for twelve (12) months from the date of award. The Laboratory of Molecular Biology has eight (8) AKTA Fast Protein Liquid Chromatography systems (FPLC). These FPLCs are required to purify immunotoxins which are being developed by LMB for use in cancer therapy, and proteins studied in the laboratory's basic research programs. It is essential that the FPLCs be available and in good working condition at all times. The contractor shall provide all labor, material and equipment for preventive maintenance of these government owned FPLCs. All maintenance services shall be performed in accordance with the manufacturer's standard maintenance practices. Specifically, the contractor shall provide the following services during the agreement period: 1) one (1) preventative maintenance visit (service shall be performed by technically qualified trained personnel); 2) emergency repair services on an unlimited basis (emergency service calls shall not replace a scheduled preventative maintenance call); 3) engineer travel, all parts and labor (consumables are included during the preventative maintenance visit only). All service parts included are on a part-for-part exchange basis only; parts shall be new or remanufactured to original equipment specifications. Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. In order to receive an award, contractors must be registered and have valid certification in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and the Online Representations and Certifications Applications (ORCA).
