- Description
- Fort Bliss is holding our first Advance Planning Briefing Industry Day to be held at the Centennial Banquet and Conference Center, East Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas on 14 October 2010. The Industry Day is sponsored by the Fort Bliss Installation Commanding General in cooperation with the Base Transformation Office, Mission Support Element, Directorates on Fort Bliss, the Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) Fort Bliss, and the MICC Office of Small Business Programs. Fort Bliss will host this Advanced Planning Briefing for Industry (APBI) for interested parties from 7:30am 5:30pm MST. Registration starts at 7:30am. At this briefing, participants will receive a series of presentations by Government representatives outlining the Fort Bliss mission and vision, how Fort Bliss is expanding and changing, the MICC organization and overall contracting process, what organizations exist and operate within Fort Bliss and what their FY11/FY12 contract opportunities are/may be so that local and national businesses can learn what potential opportunities will be available for competition. The conference will also allow other Fort Bliss tenant organizations such Network Enterprise Command (NEC), Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR), Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES), Defense Commissary Agency (DECA), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) to address those contracting opportunities that they may have coming available in FY11/FY12. These will be addressed in separate breakout sessions headed by the individual organization. Due to time constraints, after each presentation, only a limited number of questions will be answered. Therefore, we request participants that have questions that were not answered during the presentations to provide their written questions via email to daniel.n.portillo@us.army.mil. All of the presentation briefings will be posted on www.fedbizopps.gov on October 15, 2010. Answers to questions received that were not answered during the presentations, will be posted on www.fedbizopps.gov at a later date once all questions have been received/answered. The APBI will be unclassified and open to all interested contractors, large and small businesses, and universities. Dress code is business casual. Please email daniel.n.portillo@us.army.mil: Company Name and Address; Name and Contact Information for Each Attendee. Registration is required for all attendees. Attendance is free of charge. However, if attendees want to participate in the luncheon, a luncheon fee will be required and a luncheon ticket will be issued at the registration table on the day of the event. Attendees wishing to set up a table to market their goods or services may do so on a first come first serve basis. Spaces are to be reserved by contacting Daniel.N.Portillo@us.army.mil. Networking will be allowed during breaks and lunch if you choose to do so. All attendees must meet the requirements for admission to Fort Bliss, to include: proper identification (i.e.: U.S. Driver's License, U.S. Passport, and/or Common Access Card (CAC), and your current vehicle registration or rental car agreement, and proof of motor vehicle insurance must have all 3 items). All interested parties will enter through East Biggs Main Gate on Sargent Majors Blvd. Visitors attending the conference without a Department of Defense (DoD) registration sticker on their vehicle must stop at the vehicle pass office located to the right of the gate. Expect extremely long delays as there will be a number of personnel requiring passes, in addition to the normal daily gate traffic by Fort Bliss employees. Therefore you must plan accordingly as the conference will start on time. Fort Bliss may implement a pre-registration vehicle pass procedure, however due to the short timeframe between this posting and the conference, do not assume that this process will be implemented right away. Watch for possible amendments to this announcement. Point of Contact: Primary: Daniel Portillo 915-568-2917 or Daniel.N.Portillo@us.army.mil. Alternate: Michael R. Duffy Michael.R.Duffy@us.army.mil.
