- This requirement is to provide all materials, labor, equipment and transportation necessary to clean, inspect, report condition of two centrifugal compressor rotor components, and reassemble components from two rotors to make one usable rotor. Work shall be accomplished at Contractor's facility. The rotors are currently located at Arnold AFB, TN. The two rotors are Allis-Chalmers (GEOG) model V-1604 centrifugal rotors. One of the rotors has a serial number of 5118 and the other serial number is unknown. The rotors were used in compressors until the early 1970's. At that time they were replaced with new rotors and placed in storage. The rotors are of welded construction and have been covered with a protective coating of Cosmoline. The items have been stored while sitting on the wheels to avoid rotor bow and potential damage to the journals. Delivery terms shall be FOB Destination, Arnold AFB TN 37389, with a delivery period of 42 weeks after notice of award. A complete Request for Proposal (RFP) with specifications will be available on or about 14 July 2010. Proposal due date will be on or about 4 August 2010 at 2:00 p.m. local time. Request for Proposal will only be available electronically at the FBO website. No hard copies, faxes, or e-mails will be available. Please register as a source to be notified of RFP Amendments, Clarifications, etc. However, it is the responsibility of contractors (even those registered as a source) to check the FBO website frequently to ensure they have all available information.
